Dropbox with webDAV

You can easilly make your webDAV content to be synced (or backed up) into your Dropbox account.

1) First just create Dropbox account and setup your Dropbox client via command line. Also enable auto startup.

Guide for this can be found my previous post Command line Dropbox client

2) Then setup your webDAV server.

My post about this is here Easy WebDAV server setup in Fedora Linux

3) Modify the webDAV setup in httpd.conf to point into your Dropbox directory (~/Dropbox) . That’s it.

Change the path in <directory> and <location> in httpd.conf

4) Now when you access your webDAV server you actually see a view from your Dropbox synced content. Cool, huh!

P.s. Do you have Nokia Mobile phone? Did you know that the “Remote hardrive” in your mobile means webDAV. With this guide you can also access your Dropbox from your Nokia.

Now just point your Nokia into your WebDAV server and you actually see your Dropbox from your mobile. Access your Dropbox files directly from your mobile ;)

Easier just to use SMEStorage.com that adds WebDav to DropBox
